Aga / Rayburn Service Engineers
Staunch and Flow are Central London's Aga and Rayburn service engineers. We maintain and service all Aga and Rayburn gas cookers.
Aga/Rayburn advise all their cooker owners to have a thorough service every year. Our staff have completed all of the Aga and Rayburn courses and have the appropriate Corgi Range Cooker certification so that we can work on these cookers.
A service costs £160 + VAT. We carry out the full approved Aga/Rayburn service which includes taking off the hot plate, checking that all the flues are clean and changing the Thermocouple. Parts are not included in this price.
If something has gone wrong with the cooker and we need to fix it, then we charge at our hourly rate of £80 + VAT/hour. Our engineer will explain all this when he visits.
Please note that in order to work on an Aga or Rayburn you must turn off your cooker 24 hours in advance in order for it to have cooled down enough to work on. Continue reading for advice on how to do this.

Turning your Aga off - Gas
Mk 1 Burner
Refer to the sketch below to identify the various controls.
If your Aga is only to be left for a few days, why turn it off? It doesn't hurt to leave it on a lower thermostat position.
For longer periods the pilot only may be left on as follows:
Turn the black control tap '4' (located in the centre of the numbered ring) through 90 degrees, until the finger grip is at right angles, i.e across the gas pipe.
To turn it off completely:
Carry out the above and then turn the main control cock '1' through 90 degrees, so that the line on the cock, is across the pipe.
This turns both pilot and main burner off.
